Position Overview
The Manager is responsible for overseeing all daily operations, driving financial performance and is expected to recruit, develop and lead a strong, guest-focused team. You ll implement systems, maintain standards, measure certain outcomes and create a positive workplace culture through hands-on leadership.
In addition to our full-service model, you will be responsible for leading and managing our to-go and in-house delivery operations. A significant amount of our business comes from to-go and delivery services, so being enthusiastic about this aspect of the business model is critical to success in this position.
This role requires someone with previous management experience in the hospitality industry, specifically in leading a team to achieve company goals and deliver exceptional customer service in our industry. You will be expected to combine your passion for outstanding service, serving exceptional food and using strong organizational skills to ensure a memorable dining experience for all guests. The Manager reports to the Regional Manager and works closely with Ownership to implement the most effective management style, fostering a positive working environment and achieving company goals. Key Responsibilities
Implement a management style that creates and maintains a positive work environment for all team members.
- Lead all aspects of restaurant daily operations for front and back of house.
- Recruit, interview and train all FOH team members to deliver exceptional guest experiences and accomplish company goals.
- Manage onboarding, offboarding and most other Human Resource duties for all employees who work at Blue Pan Pizza.
- Maintain compliance with health, safety, and labor regulations.
- Manage food costs, monitor inventory and usage and place most orders with our food and beverage vendors.
- Manage our labor model based on workload and sales volume at any given time.
- Analyze financial reports and take action to improve performance.
- Create a team culture built on respect, consistency, and accountability.
- Oversee opening/closing procedures.
- Evaluate guest experiences to ensure they receive the highest level of service in our industry. Taking ownership and coming up with solutions when issues arise with our guests is critical to be successful at this position.
- Collaborate with the Kitchen team to ensure our food consistently meets the high expectations we have set since our inception.
- Update POS system with menu items as needed.
- Conduct performance reviews, provide feedback, and oversee employee performance based on goals outlined in the performance review.
- Lead team pre-shift, weekly and quarterly team meetings.
- Oversee daily accounting for the Front of House team including the pooling and distribution of gratuities.
- Oversee payroll for the FOH team; ensuring hours worked are consistent with hours scheduled and tip earned are accurate and processing correctly on a bi-weekly basis.
- Provide detailed analysis of financial performance.
Qualifications
- At least 2 years proven experience in restaurant management, preferably in a high-volume environment that has robust to-go and delivery operations on top of an incredibly busy dining room.
- Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and inspire. An exceptionally high level of emotional intelligence and a low tolerance for drama are key to success in this role. If you struggle to manage your emotions in high-pressure situations, this job may not be suitable for you.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You must be passionate about the guest experience.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented. An ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines at the same time is critical to being successful at this position.
- Basic proficiency in MS Excel is required.
- Significant experience with restaurant financial reporting is required.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
